Fixed Boxing Speed Bag 1" Platform (Bag Included)

Honest review for this speedbag. I have never owned one till now. I have ready many reviews on this and thought this was the best bang for the buck. I got the 2 inch platform because of reading about speed bags in general about vibrations.

The directions were for the most part simple to understand. Just arrows and pics to show you the order of the bolts, nuts, and washers.

I seen many other pics of how people bolted the unit to beams. I bolted a 2x8 to my basement stair studs using carriage bolts. I then used the wood bolts provided to attach it to the boards.

You will need 2 people to hang it. One person to hold the unit and another to screw in the wood bolts. I am 220 lbs and can hang on the unit without any play. Perfect if I say so. Although I might have to raise it up a little if any of my taller friends use it.

This unit is heavy. You'll need a hand installing it. Follow their advice on how to mount it. Mine rattles slightly but I think it's because I need two more bolts to secure it to the wood that I mounted horizontally on the wall. I plan on adding that to see if it fixes the rattle. It's not too bad though. I love the unit! It's really easy to adjust. It allows my son, or someone shorter, to adjust it to their height. It's solid. I did buy a different bag. I never tried the one it came with but it looks pretty cheap. I already had a new bag I bought earlier from amazon so I just used that one. Don't try to mount alone..you'll need help but it's worth it! I've never used another speed bag mount so I can't compare it to anything. I can say I really like this one and I'm glad I bought it. It did come with an end cap that was broken during delivery. I read in the manual it said to call them, NOT where you bought it from, so I did that. Their customer service was awesome. They shipped out the end cap and some extra ones just in case. Fast delivery, no hassle. A+++

Bought this as my birthday present to myself for my first house, so I wanted the best one I could get. I’ve used many types of these things over the years, and this one is by far the best. Making a template to mount it on a large sheet of graph paper (not included) makes mounting way easier. It’s super sturdy, and doesn’t rattle at all despite the enthusiastic beating it’s taken. I could not be happier with my purchase!

As others have said in their reviews, the instructions included with the platform could be much better, but with a little inspection it is not very difficult to figure out how everything fits together. The true challenge is in it's weight. This unit is HEAVY, easily a three person job (2 to hold the unit up, 1 to screw it in place). I chose to affix the top portion of the frame separately then inserted the rest of the unit and screw everything in place.

The unit comes with a set of wood lag screws and concrete fasteners, but the insertion holes do not fit onto standard 16" spaced studs (they are spaced at 17") so you will have to mount some cross planks onto your studs. This unit is too heavy to be mounted directly to drywall. I put up 2 36" lengths of 2x4s across 3 studs and mounted the frame onto these.

For all the work that goes into mounting this unit it is worth the effort. The frame holds up very well to the vibrations of an intense speed bag workout. My one criticism is the swivel becomes loose where it is screwed in to the unit, so you may want to consider wrapping it in some thread seal tape. As others wrote of the inferior bag that is included I purchased a Title speed bag which I used from the outset and cannot comment on the included bag.

This is a solid piece of equipment. You not be sorry you got this. This will fit everyone’s need for fitness.
