I bought this as a gift for my sister who is a personal trainer and gym enthusiast. One day me and my other siblings got together and I decided to try out the ab mat. What I thought was just to protect your lower back, actually gives your abs more range of motion and helps to hit the lower abs much better than regular sit up. This is an amazing purchase for people who either don't have access to a full gym or just prefer doing body weight exercises. I just purchased a second one for myself. One more thing, we only had it for a couple months so no telling how durable it is with daily use, but so far its great.
