FAQs

Common Questions About the Bench Press Stands

Can these stands be used for squats?

We do not recommend these stands for squats due to a max upright height of only 49.5" off the ground. For combo squatting and bench pressing capabilities, check out our taller Independent Stands built to handle both exercises safely.

What exercises can you do with these stands?

Pair your bench press stands with a flat, decline, or adjustable weight bench to unlock unlimited exercise potential. No matter the angle, these give you a stable and safe setup for all pressing movements.

Are these stands sold in a pair?

Yes, they come as a pair with one stand to hold each side of your barbell.

What barbells are compatible with these stands?

Thanks to their independent design, these stands fit most standard and Olympic barbells, providing flexible use for most bar sizes.

Does the job for what’s needed. Easy to assemble and move around. I’m older and don’t use much weight so these stands are fine. Not sure how they would hold up with heavier weight though. Exactly what I wanted, I would purchase again.

I've only had the BD-2 independent weight bench for a couple of weeks but I am very satisfied with the purchase. The bench seems solid and well made and its works perfectly for my needs. I purchased the bench to replace a bench that was probably 30 years old. Since I planned to use an existing bar and older weights with one inch centers, this bench allowed me to vary the distance between the stands to accommodate my bar with only 42" between the hubs of the bar. That, coupled with a reasonable price, suited my needs. The bench arrived in a timely fashion and was undamaged during shipping. It was very east to assemble, though having metric tools made the process much easier. My major concern was the independent stands might not be steady on my tile floor, but the rubber feet work very well. Placing the stand's rear supports against a wall and loading some weight on the pegs also helped to make the set-up very steady and stable. The safety bars are also a reassuring feature. Also, I'd like to mention the assistance I received from Valor during my search for a bench.I had some questions about a few of their products and they were very prompt with answers to my questions, and I appreciated that.
