Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
How would I mount the foldable dips bar on a standard wood framed wall with plaster over it? It seems like you could only get one of the screws into a 2x4 in the wall.
We recommend using a stringer board, either by applying a 2x6 or a piece of plywood. You would have to fasten these onto the wall first, and then you can mount the Dip Bars onto the stringer board or plywood. You would need to get the necessary hardware to make this change, as the hardware included is intended for concrete mounting.

How far part are the mounting plate holes from top to bottom? I saw on a previous question that the top holes are 10” apart and the bottom holes are 4 3/4” apart.
The distance between the top holes to bottom is about 7 7/8". Please see photo below of the measurement.
-
What size masonry bit for the expansion screw? Instructions say 8 mm but that is too small and the screw would not tap in.
Apologies about the confusion but we would recommend using a 7/16" masonry bit for the expansion screw.
-
How far out are you from the wall when using this for dips?
From the wall to the beginning of the knurling is about 14" apart. So, if you stick within the 8" of knurling, you can be anywhere from 12"-18" away from the wall. Please view picture below for clarification.

What are the measurements of the bolt hole spacing for the foldable dip station? I would like to know how far all the bolts are from each other for deciding if I can mount it
The bolt hole spacing for the Foldable Dip Station has two main anchor points. Please see photo below for clarification. The top hole placements, 'x' measure to be 10" apart. The bottom hole placements, 'y' (not visual on photo) are spaced about 4-3/4" apart. These measurements was taken from a unit that has been secured onto cinderblock walls.
-
What is the measurement from the backplate to the end of the bar? If it was in the locked position for use
From the backplate to the end of the bar measures to be about 22-1/2". Please see photo below for clarification.

can you confirm the handles do have the knurling on them? TIA!
Yes, they should have 8" of knurling around the portion where you would normally place your hands at. If they don't, please feel free to reach out to us and we'd be happy to help!

Does this mount into a wall stud? The bolt holes look too wide to hit a stud.
The DP-2 wall mounted dip station come with mounting hardware for concrete/brick walls. If mounting into wood studs you may need a stringer. The stringer would be a 2 x 4 board that would mount to the wood studs and the DP-2.
