The rack fits great in a 7 ft long x 9 ft wide room if space is an issue. Assembly is easy and straight forward with the included instructions. You will need an adjustable wrench to hold the nut while tightening the bolt with a 18mm socket wrench. The back has 4 nice pegs to store 2" olympic weights and is convenient for quick change outs when doing squats. A nice space saving feature is that there is no fixed bench to the frame, so you can buy your own favorite incline bench and just roll it into the cage for bench presses and roll the bench out of the way for easy storage.

The frame is manufactured over seas, so has some quality control issues. 2 of the parts came with rust and chipped paint, but the Valor Fitness customer service was great about shipping replacement parts out the next day.

The Wally Mart bath dept has a thick gray bath mat that I cut to size and wrapped around the support bars and vertical beam with clear packaging tape. The foam material works great to deaden the metal clang noise when racking the bar and also helps to keep the olympic bar from getting tore up. The Valor Fitness web site has this rack priced cheaper with military discount compared to other stores. Overall a good value for the price. Semper Fidelis.

After weeks of research among brands and structure types, I settled on the BD-6 looking for a powerlifting-oriented routine centered around Squat, Bench, Military, Curls. Could not be happier with this unit. For ~$350 it is quite well built and easily able to handle all but competition level poundage. For the range of function, it occupies surprisingly little space. The adjustable safeties and bar holders are well positioned to allow both Squat and Bench with ease. The gap between uprights is generous, allowing freedom of motion. I was concerned that the heights would not accommodate bench press, but it was clearly designed with this in mind. The second bar pegs are perfect for holding and extracting the bar, and the second safety holes allow the average male to just touch a slightly arched chest without touching the safety (with my bench at least). If stuck, easing the chest back to flat allows resting the bar on the safety so you could slide out from underneath. The four plate holders eliminate the need for a plate tree, further compacting the workout space.

This is much better than the bd 2 which i have owned for 2 years. With this rack you can do bench incline shoulders decline squats. This is super strudy no movement. It comes in 2 boxes and takes about 30 mins with power tools and some one helping. This set up will probably will last a life time. I wish i had started with this from the start. Dont make the same mistake i did and just go right to this one

After not being able to do squats for several sessions at my local gym due to guys taking up the squat racks, I decided to purchase my own squat rack. I squat around 225-255 so needed a solid rack. The rack is in my study so it couldn't take up too much room. I also needed the rack for bench presses.

This rack is perfect for all of these reasons. I don't worry about it moving or bending - it seems sturdy enough to handle significantly more than I'm putting on it. The angle makes both squats and bench presses possible. I also like the weight holders on the sides since I don't have room for a separate weight rack.

I have been far more consistent in my workouts since I've added this rack at home several months ago. It's made a huge difference in my health. My wife is probably tired of hearing me express how glad I am to have invested in this rack but I couldn't be more pleased.

Perfect for home use. I went with this because of the variety of exercises that are possible to do with out taking up a ton of space. It's a great item. The only complaint I have is that the materials used to make it, the welding and assembly are somewhat cheap. It wasn't too difficult to assemble, but I had to struggle a bit with a few of the connections. I guess I can't be too critical because it is a pretty inexpensive item. If you want better quality you will have to pay a little more. And despite the fact that it feels cheap, it is surprisingly very sturdy...which is a must. I have used weights up to about 400lbs, and the rack has had no problem supporting it. Overall, for the price I don't think you will be disappointed.
