Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Will this work as a replacement for the BD-7 lat pull attachment? If not, is there a replacement item available for the BD-7 lat pull attachment?

Each rack has its own specific lat pull down which doesn't fit on the other racks. The BD-33L is specific for the BD-33 and does not fit the BD-7.

  • What is the pulley ratio?

    The pulley ratio is 1:1.

  • would this work for the BD-41 or just BD-33?

This attachment is meant to fit the BD-33 only. However, the BD-41L (which can be found here: https://valorfitness.com/products/valor-fitness-bd-41l-lat-pull-for-bd-41-heavy-duty-power-cage) is meant to fit the BD-41.

  • I’m looking for a cable / lat pull attachment. I see there is one on sale for use with the BD-33 power rack. I have the BD-41 power rack. Could the lat pull attachment still work with the BD-41? Or is there something similar for the BD-41 rack?

You can click the link below to find the Lat Pull Attachment that is compatible with the BD-41 Power Rack. The product SKU is BD-41L, which is intended to fit the BD-41 Rack. Hope that helps!

excellent build quality and flexibility of attachment options for horizontal or vertical pulls. Improvement could be had by increasing the distance from the attachment points so that the plate arms would allow standard 35 and 45lb plates - currently the set up strikes the top of the lower foot plates when when anything larger than a 25lb plate is used. This only affects the lower horizontal pull feature. This pulley arrangement allows for actual weight of plates to be experienced in a 1:1 ratio, unlike the crossover attachment pulleys change direction forcing weight experienced to be a 2:1 ratio or half the positioned weight on each side.

Overall I'm very happy with this product excellent value for the money. Assembly was initially a bit daunting but went smoothly. cable motion is fluid and the rack is solid.
I'm 6' 7" and no issues with range of motion for lat pulls, in fact this is better than the commercial unit I used in the past.

it is important to note that since this has less pulley's than a commercial unit, it requires less plate loaded weight.

A couple of minor issues or improvements:

1) I do my pullups inside of the rack on the chin bar (I can't use the outside of the rack as I have a ceiling) with the attachment being so close its a tight squeeze but still workable.
2) I haven't had to use the chain or the lap bar much and the attachments that come with it work ok, but you will probably want to upgrade anyway.
3) the foot plates definitely will hit a 45lb plate when used for low row it isn't really much of an issue.
