Safety Catch Set for BD-7 and BD-33 Power Racks

The MB-F Safety Catch Set is designed to give the user the added insurance while lifting. Utilizing a straight, 11.75” rubber protected reinforced beam, this distance and support is designed to catch or support those reps that just could not quite make it back to the original starting position.

SECURE: Solid steel safety catches are welded to a 3-sided face plate for a secure grip on Valor Fitness BD-7 and BD-33 Power Racks. The solid 12-Gauge Steel rod is positioned completely through the main frame uprights, creating a safe LOCKING MECHANISM.
HEAVY DUTY: Made from 12-Gauge Steel, the MB-F can safely support or catch up to 750 lb for added insurance while lifting personal best limits.
UNIQUE DESIGN: Safety catch extends 12" from the power rack and is reinforced with rubber padding to absorb shock and better support the weight. 3.5" Steel End Caps prevent bar from sliding or tipping off.
EASILY ADJUSTABLE: Safety bar extensions can be adjusted with just a turn of the wrist by rotating the extension 90 degrees to unlock. Find desired height, re-insert steel pin, and rotate back in place to lock.

Adjusting the Safety Catches are just a turn of the wrist. Rotate the Extension 90 degrees, pull from current location, find desired location, insert Bar Extension pin into frame, rotate back 90 degrees. Confirm you have the correct adjustment before you start your workout.

MB-F bar extensions are 2" x 2" and will fit the Valor Fitness BD-7 and BD-33 Power Racks. The Valor Fitness MB-H Safety Bar Extensions are 2.5" x 2.5" and will only fit Valor Fitness BD-11, BD-20, and BD-41 Power Racks. Please note that all Valor Fitness accessories are designed to fit Valor Fitness products only. Max weight limit is 750 lb - sold in pairs.

Excellent as advertised

Like one of the other reviews says, you need to perfectly set your bench up in order to land the barbell in these because of how short they are. If I could find another brand that fits my power rack, I would definitely return these. These are so short you barely have room to get the barbell of the hooks. I feel these could be really dangerous because someone could easily drop the barbell, or hit failure, and completely miss the safety arms. Overall, I do not recommend these unless you can't find a longer substitute.

***EDIT*** Dropped rating from 5 stars to 4 stars due to the fact that rolling the barbell up and down the safety bars with only 100 lbs, one of the rubber padding on the safety bar started to come unglued and bunched up!

These Valor safety bars are excellent for my application which is to move my squatting barbell further away from the Titan T-2 SHORT rack because with a short rack, the bottom of the back upper rack bar is only about 5'-7" high, and my head tends to bump up against it when using a standard J-hook to rack the barbell. Using this Valor safety bar as an extended J-hook gives me the clearance away from the rack I need (see pics). I only wish the safety bar was only 8" or so and not the 11.75" but it's still way better than a normal J-hook and way better than the spotter bar offered by Titan (maker of my rack) which extends out 22.25" and would not be good for my application. Understandably, the Valor safety extension bar would be kinda short if I intended it to be used for the purpose it was made for and the Titan spotter bar would be perfect, but for my application, it's the other way around, the Valor is perfect! In terms of design and workmanship, the Valor safety bars actually fit my Titan T-2 short rack more precisely than the J-bars Titan makes.

Extremely sturdy, fits onto rack perfectly. Only negative is the length of safety bars approx double of the orig bar catches. If 4-6 inches longer, would be more user friendly. You have to perfect set the bench at to be able to allow the bars to catch the lifting bar upon inability to press (emergency). The safety bars at the local gym are a good 6 inches longer - makes a difference.

Would fit in my bd-9?

The MB-F will not fit the BD-9 as the holes are not 1" in diameter to fit the peg. The only way would be to purchase another longer height adjusting bracket that came wiht the BD-9.
Do these Safety catches work on the BD-20, Folding Wall Mount Squat Rack?

The BD-20 has 2.5 x 2.5" uprights. You will want the BF-H (link below) which will fit the 2.5: uprights.
